I believe that working in partnership with parents has a positive impact on children's learning and development. I am always willing to listen to parents concerns and share in their child's achievements both at home and in my setting.
I keep parents informed of their child's daily activities in a daily diary. This gives parents an insight into their child's day and the feedback I receive from parents is that they love to read all about their child's development and daily activities at the end of their busy working day. I encourage parents to write any comments or suggestions in the book as it is a good way of two-way communication between home and my setting.
When children start in my setting parents are asked to complete an 'All About Me' form which gives me information about your child's favourite activities at home, likes and dislikes and lots of other information to help me to get to know your child and their familiar routines. The more information I have about your child the easier it is to support you and them in the early days.
